The Locke Family Bucket List Book
A few months into lockdown last year we discovered The Bucket List Family on YouTube and started watching their videos from the beginning. Not only did they give us an escape in the evening at a time when we most needed it, but their videos also reminded us about the importance of being together as a family, supporting each other, trying new things, and being present for those special family moments.
Most of their videos are set in incredible places (many of which we hope to visit one day) but the core message we got was family, service and adventure.
It inspired me to look at the world the same way my children do. They adore adventuring, and it doesn’t have to be new and shiny, it has to be together as a family unit, with lots of stops to look around and really take it all in. They are still young and aren’t looking for the big things, they want to look for bugs, find stones, collect leaves, hold hands while standing in the waves, hug trees and have family cuddles together over a picnic.
I have designed this book to make a list of everything we want to do together as a family. The big and all the little things that are, if anything, more important. It’s the little things that make up the everyday magic that is your life. It’s the little things and the traditions that we put in place that our children will look back on with love and wonder and know that they were treasured, that every day with them is a gift.
After the main page, I have split my big list into sections. One for Home (where I imagine most of our memories will be made), then Kent; as I want to travel as see as much of it together as we can. Never underestimate how much can be enjoyed in your home county. I’ve also got sections for London and then the West Country and Yorkshire, as we have family in those areas that we are able to stay with while we adventure. Finally, I have Scotland and Wales as we hope to travel there over the next year or so.
Eventually, I’d love to add more and more countries to our list, and we have BIG dreams for the future, but as you can see we have so much fun planned for the now.
What’s on your Bucket List? Do you document or record it?
Hoping this inspires you to find your everyday magic,
Livvy and Summer
